Mohd Sahimy Man
President & Chief Executive Officer

Mohd Sahimy was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of MRT on 1st October 2012. He has 34 years of experience in general insurance and reinsurance industry and has held various senior positions in leading local and international insurance and reinsurance companies. Prior to joining Malaysian Re (Dubai) Ltd. (MRDL) in October 2006, he was the Senior Manager/Alternate Chief Executive Officer of Swiss Reinsurance Company, Kuala Lumpur Branch and the General Manager of Etiqa Offshore Insurance (L) Ltd. (formerly known as MNI Offshore Insurance (L) Limited.)

Andy Chee
Vice President of Family Retakaful

Andy Chee graduated from Universiti Malaya with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. He has more than 20 years of experience in life insurance, reinsurance, and family retakaful industries. Prior to joining MRT, he was the Manager of Underwriting and Administration in an offshore family retakaful company. He joined MRT in April 2013.

Haji Abdul Aziz Hasan
Assistant Vice President of Underwriter Treaty Retakaful (General)

Haji Abdul Aziz is an Associate of The Chartered Insurance Institute, United Kingdom. He started his career with Malaysian National Reinsurance Berhad in 1988 and later promoted as the Head of Treaty Section of Business Unit 2. He was transferred to MRT in June 2007 as the Head of Treaty Department (General Retakaful) handling both the domestic and overseas markets.

Haji Zaharan Haji Abdul Aziz
Assistant Vice President & Head of Corporate Services, Risk Management & Compliance

Haji Zaharan graduated from Memphis State University, USA with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. He is a CFP professional and has working experience of more than 17 years in the financial industry in the areas of banking, finance, investment, Takaful and Retakaful. He joined MRT in May 2009.

Shahril Jefry Jaafar
Assistant Vice President of Underwriter Facultative Retakaful (General)

Shahril Jefry graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) from the University of Technology Malaysia. He started his career as a Production Engineer with a Japanese manufacturing company, Polimatech (M) Bhd in Malaysia. He joined the insurance industry in year 2000 as a Risk Engineer and was promoted as a Senior Risk Engineer cum Underwriter in AMI Insurans Bhd. He later joined Uni.Asia General Insurance Berhad (formerly known as South East Asia Insurance Bhd) and subsequently Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Bhd. He joined MRT in July 2007.

Huszaidey Thamby Hussain
Assistant Vice President of Underwriter Family Retakaful

Huszaidey Thamby graduated from University of Malaya with a Bachelor of Art & Social Science in 1991 and obtained his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysian in 2003. He has also completed his Certificate in Takaful from Centre for Research and Training (CERT) in 2005. He started his career as a Junior Underwriter (Life) in Overseas Assurance Corporation Ltd (OAC) in 1991. Prior to joining MRT, he was working in MAA Assurance Berhad, AMAL Assurance Berhad and Takaful Ikhlas Sdn Bhd. He joined MRT in Jan 2011.
